Finethikon 2012: Conference on ethics in the financial industry

The 2012 “Finethikon” Finance Ethics Conference takes place in Zurich on 25 and 26 October. Experts from the worlds of science, politics, media and NGOs will discuss the challenge of how trust and a sense of responsibility can be restored to the financial system in the wake of the 2007 economic crisis.

The institutions hosting this prestigious event are: the Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at the HWZ University for Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich, Zurich University’s Department of Banking and Finance, Zurich University Research Priority Programme for Ethics, and Observatoire de la Finance (Geneva).   • Dr. Tomáš Sedláček, Chief Economist at Československá obchodní banka (ČSOB) and member of the National Economic Council of the Czech Republic.
  • Charles Pictet, banker and member of the Board of Directors of FINMA
  • Dr. Rudolf Strahm, former member of Swiss Parliament
  • Bishop Justin Welby, member of the British House of Lords and of the UK commission investigating the Libor scandal
