Liechtenstein Congress 2012 succesfully started

The Liechtenstein Congress on Sustainable Development and Responsible Investing (LISDAR) succesfully started this morning. This conference is dedicated to “Responsible Investing for foundations, institutions & individuals”.

Professor Peter Droege of the University of Liechtenstein started the day with introductory thoughts on “The sustainable economy is a stable economy”. Following this, Lord Anthony Giddens of the London School of Economics gave a “Global outlook 2020-2040 and the politics of climate change” . For those, not attending the congress the link “The politics of climate change” might give an interesting possibility to get to know his views.

Later on this morning, Jon Cracknell (Director, JMG Foundation, London) and Cath Tillotson (Chief Investment Advisor, Scorpio Partnership, London) got into the details of how especially foundations look at the subject of Responsible Investing. Hosted by Kaiser Partner’s Chief Investment Advisor Joachim Klement (Partner, Wellershoff & Partners Ltd.) a roundtabel with the speakers talked on strategic directions how sustainability can be realized in practice.

Before lunch time, Christa Velasquez (Harvard University) held a speech headlined “Potential and evolution of foundations: rise of the ethical financial institution” while her academic colleague of University of Zurich Dominique Jakob talked about “Responsible investments by foundations from a legal perspective”.
